The cardiology group of Harrisonburg Medical Associates announced in mid-August that it is joining the Sentara RMH Medical Group, effective August 21, 2017.
The cardiology group, comprised of cardiologists and advanced care practitioners (physician assistants and nurse practitioners), is relocating its offices to the Sentara Hahn Medical Office Building, located at 2006 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, on the main hospital campus. The practice name is also changing to Sentara Cardiology Specialists.
This new partnership, the group explains, will allow the cardiologists to continue providing personalized medical care while also realizing the benefits of joining the Sentara Healthcare system, a leading provider of high quality healthcare.
“We are thrilled to welcome these providers to our Medical Group,” said Edward Sandy II, MD, MBA, president of the Sentara RMH Medical Group. “Partnering with the resources of Sentara Healthcare will allow seamless health information exchange, streamlined referrals, and accelerated introduction of new technologies for cardiovascular care, while locating these providers only footsteps away from the Sentara RMH Heart and Vascular Center.”
A letter explaining these changes was sent to all current and former cardiology patients. All already-scheduled appointments are remaining as scheduled, and patients with appointments from August 21 forward will need to see their cardiologist at the new location on the Sentara RMH health campus.
People wishing to contact Sentara Cardiology Specialists on or after Aug. 21 should dial 540-689-7400.
